Chris Brown is gearing up for his new album X and he recently released Fine China and visuals for the single as well. This new single definitely gives a Michael Jackson feel and after watching the video you can tell that he’s paying homage to one of his idols. Fine China feels fresh, its something different from the recent norms of R&B. While it gives you a a old school vibe, it also makes you feel good while listening. If this is any example of what we can expect from X I believe we are in for an AWESOME album from Chris.
Everybody loves Kendrick Lamar after he dropped is amazing debut album Good Kid m.A.A.d. City, but others from his TDE camp are making some noise as well. One of the standouts from the Black Hippy supergroup is Schoolboy Q.
He created a buzz with his track Hands on the Wheel ft A$AP Rocky in 2012 and he is now creating some new buzz for OxyMoron his first album out on a major label with the track Yay Yay. I’m no dope boy but I must say Yay Yay is quite catchy and you will be rapping along with Schoolboy before the end of the track. He recently performed the track at S.O.B in New York and the crowd was rocking.
Check the track below and let us know if you feeling Schoolboy Q!
Put Molly all in her champagne, she ain’t even know it. I took her home and I enjoyed that, she ain’t even know it – Rick Ross
The Rick Ross verse on Rocko’s – U.O.E.N.O. song ft Future & Rick Ross has gotten Ross into a lot of trouble . I listened to the track when Rocko first released his mixtape. It just recently caught a buzz and the media is really latching on to his verse in particular. Many speculations have been made that the lyrics above insinuate that Ross took advantage of a young lady with the drug “Molly” and took her home and raped her .
Recently, the woman’s group Ultra Violet protested at Reebok because they believe that Ross brags about date rape and should be held accountable . They have started a petition and they are urging Reebok to drop Ross as a spokesperson for the lyrics used in his verse. Ultra Violet believes that Ross verse is sending a dangerous message to the boys and young men that Reebok markets to.
I can say that this isn’t a well versed , verse . Ross tried to include the ever so popular drug “Molly ” with the title of the song You don’t even know it and the result left him in hot water. Molly isn’t known as a date rape drug , it usually leaves the user sexually aroused , which is probably what he was trying to insinuate in this verse . That after the molly and champagne the young lady was sexually aroused and ready to be taken home for sexual pleasures . However, artists need to be more aware of what they say in their lyrics . Their fans are listening and some are easily influenced by the lyrics they hear. What is your opinion on this topic ? Do you think those lyrics should be removed ?
Beyonce embraces her past in her new Pepsi ad. She reminisces on her Bootylicious, Crazy in Love, and Single Ladies reflections during a dance rehearsal.
This ad featured Beyonce’s new song ” Grown Woman” , no word if it will be released on her long awaited new album rumored to release this year but I would love to hear the full version.

The rapper formerly known as Snoop Dogg, now goes by Snoop Lion. From his forthcoming album Reincarnated, Snoop brings us a reggae feeling track with the “twerk” queen herself, Miley Cyrus.
I must say, I love the unexpected collabs. Miley has been making her rounds with some of the hottest hip hop artists and I am happy to hear music from her again! This track produced by Major Lazer and Ariel Rechtshaid, Ashtrays and Heartbreaks is just feel good music!
Wale is gearing up for his new album ” The Gifted” set to drop June 25, 2013. Some believe that his signing to MMG has made him leave the poetic Wale that his initial fans came to LOVE. However, with his single “Bad” and Fun ” Sight of the Sun” freestyle, he might be back to the Wale that we once knew and loved.
I think its refreshing, Tell us how you feel.
