Lauryn Hill In Trouble

Rather than putting up a picture circulating of Lauryn Hill leaving the court house, we visually want to remember the beautiful, strong woman she once was.

Hill pled guilty yesterday in a Newark courtroom to not paying taxes on $1.8 million made between 2005 and 2007. It was supposedly made known to the judge that she signed a million dollar contract with her former label, Sony, and that she planned to use more than half of it as a loan to pay back some of the money she owes. The judge, unsympathetic to the crime, expects Hill to show action on her charges. Her sentencing was postponed to May 6th.

We love Lauryn and hope she gets right soon! Worse case scenario she is facing several years in prison.

Beyonce Performs “Grown Woman “

The Mrs. Carter Show World Tour had no new songs on the set list but during Beyonce’s Paris show she performed “Grown Woman” while dancing with the Les Twins! Take a peep at the fan recorded performance below :

XXL Freshman Class Cypher Part 1 & 2

XXL released their Freshman Class freestyles and now they are releasing the 2013 cyphers. TDE held it down with their flows , Ab-Soul being a standout in his cypher & Schoolboy Q totally shinning on Trinidad James and Kirko Bangz . Where My R&B Chicks At?!

I am a lover of R&B music, don’t get me wrong I love all genres BUT its something great about a beautiful ballad or a R&B song that sings every emotion that you are feeling at that VERY moment.

Well I’ve been missing a few good artist from the music scene . Who ? Marsha Ambrosius and Jazmine Sullivan. And I also feel that my girl Melanie Fiona doesn’t get the recognition that she deserves !

So where have our R&B chicks been? From Jazmine’s tweets she’s been in the studio lately , hopefully that means another album from her soon because we’ve been looonngggg overdue . Marsha is currently working on her “Friends and Lovers ” album and recently gave her fans a free EP ” Hors D’Oeures” . And Melanie has been giving us these awesome covers lately but I look forward to some new music from her as well, it’s been a year since The MF Life released.

They always say we should give people their flowers while their still here , Well lets appreciate these songbirds and hope that they bless our ears and these radio airwaves with what we’ve been missing .
